Firstly I apologise if this is posted in the wrong place!

I've been trying to access youtube, I can access the mobile page version (which to be frank is rubbish) but can't access the regular homepage. It keeps redirecting me to the mobile version when I click on the desktop link

I've also tried going down the route of using 3 different apps. Mytube, Zoutube and Canola with the youtube plugin. I can search for vids no problem but cannot play/download them

Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking possibly something to do with being on a Voda contract wap connection, not sure if contract internet connection (which some other Voda users are on via 3rd party purchases) is any different...
Help!

I suppose it's the WAP that's issue.

Try to find WLAN network and go to youtube when your phone is connected to WIFI.

Im on voda and i have no problems at all, is it just youtube that is going to the mobile version or are websites like facebook doing it too? You could also try installing HideUserAgent, which will stop websites knowing what web browser you are using.

I can't access wi-fi a the moment, I'm sure it will work then with no issues. It would just be a lot handier to be able to access it on the move over the 3g connection!

Just youtube, other sites connect to the normal homepage's

I'm also on Vodafone in the UK and have had no issues with YouTube in MicroB or through ZouTube on 3G

Can I ask if you guys got your N900's direct from Vodafone?

It seems anyone who has got an N900 from anyone except Vodafone directly has a connection through contract internet as opposed to contract wap

Mine is from Nokia (Regent St. store) and says "Vodafone Internet GPRS". I have flashed it since having it though and am not sure what it started life as... unless these things are stored in the SIM card?

Got mine online direct from nokias website, i have not done any flashes.. This is the first time i have gone with vodafone and they called me about a week after i got the device to tell me they were going to uncap the internet connection. So i would give them a ring and ask them to take the limit off, unless you are under 18 in which case you may not be able too.

Yeah I imagine your connected through contract internet and not contract wap as you got it from Nokia.

I've had the age limit taken off my number for ages, I've been with Voda for quite some time so it isn't that. i tried HideUserAgent but it doesn't help I still get directed to the mobile version..

All highly frustrating...
