Hi all...

The default widget for calendar on the N900 doesn't quite cut it for me. I am trying to find a widget that is larger, and shows more info.
A widget that fills about half a screen or so would be nice. It's just that I can't seem to find it.

Am I not looking in the right places? Anyone any suggestions?

Thanks

good point.
Also like to have more control on what is shown in the widget.
I like to disable showing (selective) birthdays for example

Hi, I assume that you've already checked out the calendar apps, GPE calendar, homecalendar and mcalender, in the Application repositories?

Maybe we should ask Mozilla if they would also port Mozilla Sunbird (calendar) to Maemo?

GPE Calendar & mcalendar are alternative apps while homecalendar is a widget requiring mcalendar. Not what the OP inquired about, which was simply an alternative, larger widget.

I've read elsewhere here that Desktop widget dimensions are hard to change, so don't know what options we have.

+1 for change.

Aren't those complete calendars that are made to "replace" the default one?
//edit: digittante beat me to it

The built in calendar is fine as it is for me. I just want a better widget.

That'd be cool though.

Ya, coming from the Palm and WM world, it would be nice to have a full business scheduling suite. Maybe we should all ping Pimlico or Iambic and see if they're willing to port one of their suites. Trick would be smoothly integrating it with Maemo so it can benefit from the existing sync framework, other widgets, etc.

I hope to have some free time soon and I'd like to start some serious Maemo development. Maybe this could be my first app.
