Hi Folks,

I have done so much searching that today I officially reached the of Internet!

Had to turn around and go back--anyhow my search for an N800 car mount kit
was unsuccessful.
Can anyone recommend?

Thanks

I got an arkon swiveling pda mount similar to this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-ARKON-...QQcmdZViewItem
Make sure it swivels, though. This one doesnt show much. I did have to add a drop of crazy glue to make it stay in "landscare" orientation, though. Works great!
I found one for pretty cheap, I think 10 bucks shipped.

Similar?--can you confirm the p/n?
Also why crazy glue and applied to what surfaces?

Thanks for your reply

Mine did not come in the original package, so I'm not sure of part number, and I think it comes from the dealer as a package that includes a vent and windshield mount. I only needed the vent so thats what I was searching ebay for. I'm pretty sure the seller split the package into peices to sell (ie. windshield mount in one auction and the vent mount+cradle in another). The pic in the link I sent looks EXACTLY like the one in the auction I bid on, so I think it's the same.

The mount has a ratcheting swivel on the back that allows you to position the cradle in landscape or portrait configs. It is "meant" for portrait, so the position in which it locks into landscape was a bit crooked, so I positioned it the way I wanted it (between 2 of the rachet positions) and added the drop of crazy glue within the 2 ratcheting faces behind the actual cradle. It is completely invisible and all on the mount, nothing on the nokia, so no worries there.

FYI: the feet that are on the cradle are easily removed, simply cut a retaining tab with a utility knife and they both slide out from the channel, no marks on the cradle.

I plan to upload some pics of my setup soon, so stay tuned, I will try to remember to put a link here.

That'll work! Looks like they show it both positions. I always go cheap and try to modify to suit. It has bitten in the ***** a few times, sure, but I love the challenge.

I ended up finishing up the install today (I telecommuted to work today and decided to snap a few photos. The second shows how I cut a peice of wood, soon to be painted black, and secured the mount to it by taking of the vent clips and attaching through these slots to the wood. It is a friction fit in my aftermarket stereo mount (double DIN OEM stereo, so there is a little cubby under the single DIN in which I can slide the wood), so it is easily removed. It was WAY too shaky on the road simply hanging off of the vents. It actually looks really clean from most angles, and the unit can rotate side to side to accomodate a passenger viewing a movie or reading maemo mapper.
