I looked through the associated threads and did not find this exact issue. I am using the n900 with the latest firmware. I have been able to sync contacts and email with the n900 and my backend exchange server at work. What is still not working is the calendar. It seems to lock up on the calendar sync. When I explore the latest changes it says that 246 items have been sync'd to the device but nothing shows in the calendar and the MFS sync continues to run forever.
I had read about a work around for this bug, exporting your calendar with a time frame to get rid of reoccurring appointments.
Another work around:
If you put an end date on all your reoccurring appointment (I picked 12/31/2012) then you can sync the calendar. So it appears the issue isn't just reoccurring appointments, but reoccurring appointments with no end date.
