    Wow, this will be exactly what I need. While waiting for the widget I'll spend some time setting everything up here on site so that I'll be ready to do that https connect when the widget is ready!

    Good idea from security stand point.

    However, Maegios works both over http and https. So you may not have to make any changes.

    This was a great application.
    I installed it and it works great.

    How do install the widget?

    Does it have sound alert settings?

    Ok folks,

    The Maegios app is now in the Extras Devel repository. Few things to note:

    * Not optified yet although the app is under 300Kb total space. App will be optified soon!

    * No sound notifications yet.

    * No notification light.

    You can add the widget the normal way by editing your desktop. If the maegios widget does not show up in your list of available widgets, reboot your N900 device.

    Hope you enjoy it. We definitely are!

    Please test Maegios and submit bug reports here: https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/?group_id=1243

    I will work on adding sound and light alerts next.

    I just installed it, on an n900 updated to Pr1.1, connecting to Nagios 3.0.6 over https.

    I entered the configuration and credentials, but I only get "fetching data, please wait..". Never actually manages to fetch the data. Rebooting did not fix the problem either.

    Could be a certificate issue? we have a self-signed certificate. Maybe I have to ok the cerificate somehow (EDIT: the certificate is already set to be trusted in the built-in browser)

    Thanks for testing Maegios!

    My guess is that the app can't properly connect to your Nagios instance due to incorrect URL and/or username/password. Make sure that URL has "/nagios" appended to the end (or the location where you go to when accessing Nagios through a web browser). There was a bug introduced in the last release that keeps showing "fetching..." instead of "Disconnected" when Maegios is launched by clicking the widget and can not connect to the Nagios instance. It will be fixed in the next release and more specific messages will be added on top of "Disconnected" to aid with initial configuration.
