I have found that creating a new calendar and syncing only the calendar (not the contacts nor email) it works fine both ways. I'm still waiting to be able to sync contacts, but calendar will do for now.

I am still getting failed syncs with Error and server is not responding.. the only sync that works is if I force the Full Sync.. I am really getting ready to throw in the towel here..

I think I'm losing patience too. I need a device that does this now, not some day later down the road.

The easiest for me was setting up a trial account with NuevaSync >> http://www.nuevasync.com/

After the 5 day trial is over it automatically reverts to a "free" account that only syncs Calendar and Contacts. This is all I need from MFE anyway. For G-mail I set up a standard account with the phones E-mail client using the "Account set up wizard" and chose the standard Google settings. All my folders came down and were populated.

I can confirm that Google Calendar sync has stopped syncing via MfE about 1 or 2 days ago (don't remember when exactly) - before then it was working OK.

I have created new local calendar on my N900, which synced with GC straight away, but subsequent sync didn't work. Looks like only full syncs are working, but not incrementals. :(

I reckon there is something wrong on Google's side and we can't do much about it...

I add a second vote for the use of Neuvasync.

I use it for google calandar and contact sync and it has worked flawlessly.

Lorelei is working on a solution called Erminig, his first version was an excellent start, see http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40408

At the moment, Erminig syncs the Fremantle calendar with multiple google calendars as long as you don't use recurring events. And: no GUI at the moment. However, GUI and support for recurring events are on the roadmap.

And BTW, MfE does not support google, see http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=35136, however, some of the users are able to sync sometimes somehow with varying results

Other option is to use evolution to sync to google via SyncML, see http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40278

    Good luck,

    petibub

I have never had trouble with syncing with google. I have done nothing else except set my account/password and as address m.google.com. hit enter and couple seconds later been fully synced.

Guess I'm lucky or? I haven't heard from any of my friends that they would've had any trouble either. I synced my device the first time a month ago or so.

    You lucky :-)

I always get an error :-(

How does the syncing handles recurring events? And multiple calendars, does it works? (There were many rumors about that)
