I have found and fixed the problem. The fix will be in the next update which I hope will be in a few days. I will post a note here when the next update is released.

The only workround is to switch the language to English. Or, if you have access to the command line, you can run gpe-todo with the language temporarily switched to English by using:

LC_MESSAGES=en_GB gpe-todo

Graham,
Are there plans to release an updated GPE for Diablo also? I don't know about others, but for the forseeable future my n810 is going to be my primary device. Mer will be wonderful when it is ready for primetime, but until then, it is beginning to feel a bit lonely, using Diablo.

Same here. I've no plans to replace my N810 and use it in a production environment. Changing to Mer is a long way off -- it isn't ready yet.

Yes. I am just finalising the builds and updating the update description. I hope to issue the updated Beta into extras-devel for chinook, diablo and fremantle tomorrow. There are still a couple of additional changes I would like to get in before a final release but testers for the updated Beta will be appreciated.

OK. I have released a new GPE Beta update -- version 2.8+maemo+svn20100128-1. It is currently only available for Diablo. Gregale and Bora builds are currently broken. I do plan to fix them sometime but if you need them you may want to bug me about them! Updates to the Chinook repositories are no longer possible so there will be no more versions for Chinook (although my personal daily build repositories do still support Chinook, at least for now).

Fremantle extras-devel should follow shortly I hope, but I have one more change I want to get in before promoting to extras-testing. If anyone feels like testing the Fremantle extras-devel version when it is available (should be tomorrow) that would be very welcome.

I have updated the first and second posts in this thread with the instructions and the changes for this update, respectively.

Just updated some GPE apps on my n900. One of them failed. GPE todo said that there was a missing dependency called gpesummary. It's already installed. I uninstalled all of the GPE apps. I tried to install all GPE apps and they all installed except gpe todo.

The Fremantle version is not quite ready yet. I had a problem with it yesterday and the version currently in Fremantle extras-devel is broken. I am hoping it will be fixed later today -- I will post when it is fixed.

If you need to use GPE in the meantime you should still be able to install the previous version from extras-testing.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking into GPE to see if it's something I may use but I can't find a lot of information on what's in there and what it does.

Do you guys have a link with some screenshots and the features of the various products in GPE ?

Tx a lot !

The Fremantle packages have been uploaded to extras-devel. However I am travelling and have not beenable to even test installing them!

If anyone tries them out please report back here.
