I haven't been successful connecting with my company's Cisco VPN with both of the N900's VPNC GUI's.
On VPNC GUI I get the following message:
"Connecting...
Launching vpnc, please be patient...
route: SIOCDELRT: No such process
sending state in dbus: connected
vpnc:
peer selected (single) DES as "encryption" method.
This algorithm is considered to weak today
If your vpn concentrator admin still insists on using DES
use the "--enable1des" option.
Child exited ...
Disconnected!"
How can I enable the 1des option with the GUI clients? Or do I need to execute VPNC through the command line? (I am a complete linux newbie, though, so step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated!)
I have the same problem too, anyone can help?
On VPNC GUI I get the following message:
"Connecting...
Launching vpnc, please be patient...
Connect banner:
My Companay Banner Message display correctly here.
route: SIOCDELRT: No such process
route: SIOCADDRT: Invalid argument
sending state in dbus: connected

Then nothing happened???????
Yeah, those errors are due to attempting to remove a non-existant (at the time) TUN/TAP interface in some shell file under /etc/, I tracked it down but didn't get around to trying to fix it up (the shell file seems to be different that some of the other vpnc installs I have around).
After you've received the "dbus connect" message, back out of the window and try navigating to/pinging an intranet resource and see if it is indeed working. You might be pleasantly surprised

Unfortunately failed to ping.
When I press the "Disconnect" button, I get the following
:
Disconnecting...
Interrupt, terminating vpnc ...
route: SIOCDELRT: No such process
sending state in dbus: disconnected
VPNC started in foreground...
Connected!
Disconnected!
Huh? why at the last line it said "Connected" and then "Disconnected".hmmmmmm
Btw i am using VPNC GUI 0.4.1
Edit:
Okay, i think i found the problem, it is the banner that causing it is not able to proceed, because it need a accept the banner respond before it can complete. cos when I tried it on my windows xp, my vpn client cannot complete it connection until i accept the banner.

I know after the banner show up, it required respond to this banner in order to allow Continue to complete the login process.
