Is there any application or tool to watch forums and specific threads? I am fed of visiting a bunch of sites everyday while there is no new post in the threads i am interested in. Am i asking to much?

Many forums have RSS feeds and some of these can be customised to only include specific boards or threads. If a board you are looking at supports that then that's the easiest way to do it.

At the moment, you can click the Thread Tools button and subscribe to the thread by email. Then just create a filter in your email client (or a server-side) filter to move these emails to a dedicated folder you can watch.

Edit: looks like you were asking for a more generic solution. Don't know of any easy one.

You can also subscribe to fora with "No email notification" and use the URL http://talk.maemo.org/newsub.php to get a list of all threads in all subscribed fora that have been updated.

Four people have just told you that the forums themselves are the tool. No-one is going to make an app to do something with forums that forums do natively.

I don't know about "good", but there's an RSS app in the default distribution. I haven't used it myself.
