Hey is anybody Using Skype as their Primary Phone on Nokia N900 - I live in the city where their is always Wi-Fi - I am thinking of dropping my cellular voice service and sticking to 3G Data Only!

Is anyone familiar with Skype ???

They have an Unlimited Plan on their website advertised at only $35 for a FULL YEAR of Unlimited Calling to the USA and Canada !!!

Sound too good to be true,,,,,my question is... is it???

Does the plain include ->>>Incoming Calls as well as OUTGOING--->>>???

And how is the call quality????

Any experienced Skype users I could really use your feedback - Thanks

    You're gonna need a SkypeIn number. I believe it's $20 for 3 months, so $80/year.

After you've got that, along with the full year, then yes, all incoming/outgoing calls will be free.

Ok - I was hoping that was included so

Online number, 12 month subscription, $60.00

    Every 12 months - $35.40

$95.40 for the year still not too bad .... how is the call quality????

Could it be used as your Primary Phone on the Nokia N900???

    Just an idea --

You can use "Ring2Skype" and get a free number -- http://www.ring2skype.com/
That'll save you the $60 for a SkypeIn.

The quality on the N900 isn't bad.. I've used it a couple of times. I don't see why it can't be used as your primary phone as the contacts integrate into your phonebook.

Skype to Skype on my computer blows any phone line away. It's eerily clear and Hi Fidelity in it's resolution. Does not sound compressed or have any artifacts. I haven't used Skype into the public telephone network though.

    Forget Skype...
Both sound quality and performance are much better in (n810) built in voip client...
Perfect for international calls when traveling etc.
    I use betamax.

skype works great on 3g and wifi.
but it is not very good when you are in a moving car.
i would not recommend it as the only phone :-)

Also you cannot call emergancy numbers on skype so id not recommend it as a indpendant means. The quality has been superb for me though both on 3g and wifi.
