Recent N900 user. Have Nokia messaging setup with multiple accounts. On my phone, i have it as default account (no other account beside NMS). How can I set which of my NMS emails accounts to use to be my primary. Like Yahoo, instead of my ISP or secondary email accounts?

RIght now, it is pulling the first account listed under NMS, which is not what I want. I can't find a setting either on the phone or NMS website.

Also. This maybe a bug (can't find the exact problem there). What do you guys think? When replying in N900 default email and using NMS, sometime (i would say 50/50) the email will be replied via a DIFFERENT account that those it came in on. That is, the mail is send via account #2, but when i hit reply it showed (from as) account #1. This is a problem since account #1 doesn't allow SMTP connections from outside of its network.

I when this happen, i would need to re-set the from account, but sometime when i forget, and the mail bounced is a problem since i have to retype the emails.

thanks,

I have the same complaint, it's very annoying the primary email is the first one on the list, sorted by alphabetical order. There should be a setting to set primary email.

Can't you just go into email then "settings" then change "default account" to whichever one you want? Mine then always sends from this account. However I think you will probably have done that already. But otherwise I am not sure what the problem is

When using Nokia Messaging on N900, Nokia Messaging itself is treated as an account, and when you click the account Nokia Messaging, it shows you another list of 2nd-level accounts you've set up for Nokia Messaging.

You can setup other pop3, imap accounts other than the Nokia Messaging in the 1st level, and they will appear on the same first menu along with Nokia Messaging.
The Email Settings menu only allows you to set default email accounts among the 1st level, but it does not allow to set the default email account in Nokia Messaging to be used.

So, if you set Nokia Messaging as default or you only have setup Nokia Messaging, it always uses the first 2nd-level account, in alphabetical order, in Nokia Messaging as your primary email account and there is no option to change that.

Glad I am not the only with this problem. I also found that sometime when I reply to an email received on my phone, the return address used may not be the same as the account it came from (50/50 i think). I wish the N900 can set which account you want to use as your main mail.

That is, if I have Nokia Messaging with 2 email and 1 non-NMS email account, and an email is sent to my Yahoo account, when i click reply, the from would be set to some other account say my ISP. I now have to manually verify what account I will be replying from. Kind of frustrating since one of my ISP account will not take SMTP access outside its domain. which will make that email unsendable.

Yes. I tried connection specific SMTP, but it won't save any of my settings. In fact, I can edit them. Pressed the Save in the connect SMTP edit menu, but once it brings me back to the Connection List (and it does show the SMTP server correctly), i can' find any button that says save, and exiting it (by clicking on the top of the screen) will 'erase them.' like it never happened.

That may be another topic I need help on.
