Is there a way of disablng the desktop menu? Or only have it show in settings?

If I forget to lock it, when I pull it out of my pocket, my desktops are fubar.

Thanks!

If you are willing to possibly brick your device, you can install Modified Hildon Desktop

And then disable it via xterm:

Code:
gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/key-actions/disable_edit -t boolean true

I don't want to risk that or disable it totally. I just don't understand why it isn't an option under the setup menu as opposed to right on the desktop where you can inadvertently hose all your screens up.

@ruskie - when you tap on an open part of the screen the little cog pops up along the top to let you customize your screens.

Yup, that is a drag. Even when you are just navigating around the thing.
I have gotten used to flipping the lever on the side before putting it in my pocket. Still I wish there was a way in "Settings" to suppress the cog pop up.
