My desktop looks like this

I have my next appointment shown. Since I want to go to week view by default (clicking on the widget does take me to Agenda View)

I added the shortcut to calender which takes me to the last saved view in my case week.

Now It would be great if the icon to the shortcut would dynamicaly show the current day.

Today 1 (see in widget) but the icon has 12. It would be nice if those two would be both the current date.

Regards Markus

I thought that shortcuts are not updatable in any way. So you'll need a widget to update to the current date.
People could as an example make a widget just as big as a shortcut, with the same icon but then updating.
Not 100% sure if im correct though

@Thiis

I think you are correct

a) It was more an idea for the next maemo version
b) A widget would be nice. Since I have no clue about developing for Linux/Maemo/N900 I wonder if anyone picks up on the idea

Regard Markus

The best thing to do is make a bug request https://bugs.maemo.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=Calendar, add a link here and ask people to vote on it. I though there was a bug request to choose the default behaviour when clicking on the Calendar Widget but I couldn't find it.

there are lots of calendar requests that need votes - "ie. Nokia's attention"
