There are two eboard .deb files in the repository. Which one do I install on my N900?

If you wish to run the software on your tablet you always need the packages conating the string "armel" instead of "x86".

So this is the right one.

The x86 Packages are for development on "normal" computers.

Ciao jukey

Brilliant for playing chess online. Just wish the board was a little bigger.

Here is a test I am making to enlarge the display area for the board. I have added a slider to allow the hiding of the last two rows of items. This is the easiest of the changes to make. The top display shows fullscreen with the slider dragged down to hide the last two rows. The bottom display shows the slider raised to display the last two lines. Let me know what people think. The are other possibilities that I can look at, this is just the easiest change to make.

With the slider, it looks like you're only getting something like a 480x478 board instead of a full 480x480.

Is that correct?

It's somewhat difficult to see with the images being as small as they are.

Anyway, it's good just to see that you're still spending time on this.

Have you put any thought into the layout for those of us who have screen rotate installed?

The display of the board with this is about 460 X 460 if one assumes each slider takes up about 10 pixels each.

I did not know about rotation. Can the N800 and N810 displays be rotated or is this just an N900 thing? In order to rotate I would need to redo the code pretty significantly.

Hey Bruce.

Dear god, don't try and attempt to code the rotation of the screen yourself.

Search for sliderotate-diablo.install. Just click on the file and it will do the rest. I tried to upload it here but got an invalid file error for some reason.

I use this along with the Advanced Backlight applet and it has always been good to me.

The only thing is that you now will have to double press the power button to lock the screen but you can easily change that back by using "Mce edit" or editing this one file I forget.

I mostly use the screen rotation for Scid and Garnet VM but I think it would also work quite well with your Eboard.

While working on the sound problem I was able to get it to work as is. One needs to enable sound in the Preferences->Sound GUI. Also to get sound on moves one needs to enable it under the Settings menu. There is an item called something like (Beep on Opponents Move). I don't have my N810 with me at the moment. I am not to sure why there are two different menu items for this. The entry under the Settings menu is defaulted to off. I am changing this to On in the next release.
