    Large Qt Buttons wrap around

    Hi,

I have a Qt app which I want to have a very large button on the screen for. The issue I have is that the button appears "wrapped" on the device when deployed.

Is there a limit to the height of a button?

I tried to set the vertical size policy of the button, but couldn't get it to work.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Shep

I'm assuming you are talking about Maemo 5 since you didn't mention anything. I think the button height is pretty much fixed in Maemo 5, because they are drawn using the .png images of current theme and there aren't images for buttons with different height. I'm not 100% sure though.

    Thanks TNiga,

Yes, I'm talking about maemo 5 for the N900.

I didn't test your software but i think i have the same problem.
    Does it look like this?

    Buttons in Scratchbox:

    Buttons on device:

    Is there any workaround?

For scratchbox to show UI like on device you need to run your app with command "run-standalone.sh ./myapp" instead of just "./myapp".

Firstly, let me say - that looks like a great app

That's exactly the issue I'm having.

Anyone got a solution??? A limit on the button size strikes me as a big problem for a touch screen device.

Pr1.1 introduced a limit to height on Qt buttons. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature.

    This might help

Thanks mikec. Looks like a bug dressed up as a feature....I guess I'll have to live with it.
