I bought my N900 on 9th December for my bithday and since then, as im a composer/recording artist , i´ve had some crazy amount of extra freetime for the past two months to really get into this marvellous device and our community. I had the repositories set up right away when i got my N900 so ive gone thru the first awe and some real digging to get everything working like i want it to. And a lot of the REALLY GOOD STUFF is abit out of reach for many users since it takes some guts to risk bricking your device and testing the apps in the extras/devel and tweaking things plus huge amount of time too!

Theres a world of customization possibilities for N900 and it seems that much of the most crucial information (even though the WIKI is a good source for information) is only available as piecemeal here and there and a lot of stuff is only to be found by testing yourself to find out whats good and whats not.

But thats about to change here right?

I´ve been reading this board everyday and i think its time for me to chip in aswell. Theres an definitely a need to tie things together to provide some detailed user setups that work for newbies to get into this KING DEVICE. You don´t have to link everything but give your best tips, recommendations, settings etc.

So this thread is to share YOUR SETUP incl. customizations , tips, recommendations etc. for those just getting to know the device.

WARNING !!! Installing stuff from Extras Testing/Devel repositories is in your own responsibility. Might render your device unusable!

Nice info, thanks!

I am hardly getting battery through the day with moderate usage. I will try to implement some of your mods. What do you think are the primary factors affecting high battery drain?

Can you share your LED settings mce.ini file? Sounds like a fun thing to do.
