Perplexing. I don't know if the wiimote I have is just unstable or if there is some software conflict here...

Mean apt-get install wiicontrol ? I know - that is what I did initially and that is how I worked out that Transitioncontrol was interfering

The daft thing seems installed allright. It just doesn't like me! Wish I had another wiimote (or a wii) to try it out, but, alas...

these steps work for me 95% of the time:

    1. enable BlueTooth, with visibility ON, and device name "N900"
    2. press a button on WiiMote
    3. open WiiControl
    4. repeatedly press the 1+2 buttons together, until it says connected
    5. if you want gyros on, press "gamepad+gyros" button then press a button on WiiMote
    6. then it should work!!

you could try "apt-get upgrade" to see if ur missing dependencies

or try charging wiimote and/or press sync button....

Big thanks I had it working but not fully for the longest time. Never really bothered though. But I saw you put an icon up there for wiicontrol. I've downloaded it, stuck it into the icon/hildon/48x48/ etc. folder, and even pointed the .desktop entry for it to the icon, but no dice.

Could you briefly describe how you got the wiicontrol icon functioning?

    extract file in zip to:
    /usr/share/applications/hildon

    ensure icon is in:
    /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon/wiiremote.png

BINGO. Thanks. I looked at the contents of that one and mine, and saw that besides formatting they were almost indentical. Anyway nice to have the icon there now. Was the only app that didn't have one on mine.
