I don't usually like responding to provocative threads...
Bought it, then worried that it would auto-brick or batt would be totally useless or I would be spending my days re-flashing it over and over again.
But nope. Best phone I've ever had. And I'm not a developey-type either.
It's snappy (so rare in mobile tech, and I'm addicted to fast GUIs, I hate waiting for anything less than an immediate response), it's thorough (I mean, seriously, Skype and Gtalk are so totally integrated), and the interface is sexy.
I turned portrait mode off when I still had my N97 before we broke up, and I don't use any sat nav anyway, so those weren't issues for me.

Sometimes i think i should it waited for the next Nokia flagship phone running Maemo 6 instead of this beta N900 with Maemo 5
Maybe Nokia's next update will make think differently.
