Log is located in /home/user/.telepathy-theonering/theonering.log

@epage

Set pollng @ 24 hours for contacts, 30 min for voicemail, 5 min for sms. No noticeable battery drain. Verified from log polling is what I set (N900, 1.1, 0.7.4). Also noticed I can add a GV field to contacs again. Will upgrade to 7.5 and report back.

The log is stored at "~/telepathy-theonering/theonering.log"

Alternatively with 0.7.5 or so you can use a new command in the debug prompt.

The debug prompt is a chat session with your account number. So just "Sent IM To", enter account number, and type "help". It'll report a list of commands. One of those is "save_log" which takes a path of where you want to save it to, like
Code:
save_log ~/MyDocs/.documents/theonering.log

Hrm, I guess it deletes the log after you log out, because I had to reactive it for the log to appear. So I guess all that information is gone. We will never know why I had weird negative numbers

I've already changed my polling rates, so I guess I could just test to see if battery works well now.

It deletes the logs on upgrade.

Hi epage,

Any plans to have onering capable of making calls from contacts/address book/phone (aside from typing in number)?

Please remember to list your platform (either by device model or operating system version). I recommend placing it in your signature (go to Control Panel on right) to help for when you forget.

The One Ring supports contact lists of GV contacts. This has been tested on Ubuntu 9.04, Maemo 4.1, and Maemo 5. Support for Maemo 5 system contacts is in the works. You can view the bug report or view all outstanding bugs and feature requests

OK, Maemo 5 N900

So the answer is NO, you won't be able to support the question above?

How about search of Contacts instead of scrolling with your finger for like an hour?

How about parsing contacts and searching contacts by last name or first name. They are listed by first name in my list. Was that your intention?

My answer was "it depends". GV contacts should work for supported clients. System contacts are planned for, for Maemo 5. If you cannot use the contacts list with The One Ring, then there is an issue.

Search is currently supported. Just start typing and the list will narrow down to the contacts with that name. You can even just start typing in the home screen and it will open contacts with that as your search

You can also go to the App Menu, select "Groups" and select "Google Voice" to show a subset of your contacts.

For those who don't want a huge list of GV contacts, you can now disable it in the "Advanced" connection settings.

Please note this is a Maemo Contacts issue and not a The One Ring issue.

I present contact names as Google gives them to me. Parsing name formats is a sticky business and I'd rather stay away from it especially since clients (like Maemo 5's RTComm) sort of mess with name parsing.

@epage

(N900/1.1/0.7.5) sms polling seems to be stuck on 5 minutes (300 seconds). I originally set 15 minutes in 0.7.4. Checked the log, saw 300 seconds, thought I mistakenly set it for 5. Upgraded to 0.7.5 last night. Checked this morning, had it set for 15, still 300 seconds in the log.

I've tried changing to default (0), 15, 10, and 4. Rebooted. Still checking every 5 minutes per log.

I noticed that last night. I tried deleting and recreating the account, etc.

I'll try to look into it tonight
