    Battery Problmes With N900

    Ok well my experience with my N900 hasn't really started off to be a great one, I absolutely love the phone and the operating system I wouldn't go back to the N97 but I just have a few questions about the phones Battery;

    When I first got the phone there was already something wrong with the battery the phone would only last about an hour under little use (browsing the internet) I thought it might have been something I installed but what really bugged me was the fact it would have 100% battery life (on the battery bar I didn't learn about grep percen until the got a second battery) and the icon wouldn't change until there was absolutely no charge left it would be "full" and immediately change to red, warning low batter, automatic shut off.

    I went back to the store I bought the phone from and they supplied me with a new battery and the icon does move but when it gets about to 50% it does almost the same thing it turns red Grep percen states there is 0% charge and after about 30-45 mins of idling it shuts off. Battery life lasts about 2 solid days idling with nothing running in the background and very minimal use (checked for sms once) but connected to Wifi (non-static IP) is this normal, I read that sometimes it needs a few complete charges before it runs at optimum conditions but I was wondering if I should return the phone or if there is another explanation. Any info would be appreciated

    Thanks in advanced James

    EDIT: also grep battery reports that
    battery.reporting.design = 1250 (I'm assuming that is the mAh of the battery) is that correct isn't it suppose to be 1350?

    Give it a little more time. It usually settles in after a few charges.

    Whoa, thanks for the immediate reply Zerojay, alright I thought that might be the case I'll give it a few more charges and hopefully it will smooth out. Thanks

    I would actually reflash if it was my phone, it's really quick and fixes a lot of weird problems..

    Thanks fly deep, yea I've read those threads my main concern was the weird notifications, and hearing it has the a lot of the same internals as the 3GS so I was expecting similar battery life, and my experience with the 3GS is that the battery life is decent especially when idling.
