Guys I got mine N900 on Monday. Till now the whole phone works like bliss but I am still not able to use the Hover Mode. When I swipe from the left of the screen, the web page moves a bit to the right but there is no cursor. I have checked out countless vidoes and forums but I can't seem to get it working. Can you please help me. I have lamination i.e. screen cover on the display but that doesn't affect other touch screen fuctions so I dont think it will have an affect on the hover mode. Please help me guys. Is my phone broken or what?

I've had mine for about 2 weeks, and I have yet to get this to work. It's not a horrible issue, but if it's there, I'd like to know how to get it to work.

Must have been responding at the same time. I've done this, and still nothing.

Are you guys starting from the black part of phone?

I also realize that the pressure has to be perfect(not too hard, not too soft)

does it also have to be in the lower half of the LHS>>>??????

make sure you drag from Outside of the screen onto the screen, holding the whole time, using stylus is easiest

No it doesn't have to be. It even works diagonal (corner to corner)

Use your nail. I tried for a long time with my finger - then one day used the stylus and joy. Now I just use my nail and it works every time.

I also found that when using it from the new portrait mode (ctrl-shift-o enabled one) it is harder because you need to go right from the edge(the old top/bottom long edge) of the plastic bezel/screen. If you don't push your finger into the edge of the screen as you start the swipe, it's not successful much of the time. When rotated normally in landscape mode, it isn't so picky.

Maybe the touch sensitive area extends closer to the long side than the usual (short) side that you do it from. If so, perhaps a request could be added to make it less fussy on this edge.
