Hey, I'm new here and was hoping somebody could help me. I've had my n900 for a few days now, and as far as I'm aware when on the dashboard and the phone is turned to portrait, contacts should open; well mine doesn't. Also, when I'm in contacts and I turn the phone to portrait it stays in landscape. This is a big problem for me and is starting to do my head in.

Any help would be appreciated.

the contacts dont switch to portrait buddy, you can set the phone app to come up when you turn the to portrait in the phone app settings and from there you can browse contacts in portrait for calling only though

Hi AlkalineGreg, welcome to Maemo.org!

As Cartoon_Head has just said, the application called Contacts can't be used in portrait mode. If you open Phone, and select contacts from there, you can see your contacts in portrait mode, but of course that is not Contacts application, that's just a list (you can't edit contacts details and do all the things you can do using Contacts).

Hope to see a full portait mode soon on our phones, many users like you are having problems with landscape only.
