Maybe that is so that you can answer the prompt of 'Mass Media' or 'PC Suite' mode? If you are talking about when plugging in a dumb charger then I take your point - daft to unlock the screen just to say 'Charging'!

on an other hand: can you charge your device in your pocket? or do you have to leave it to the table.....

e: I see no reason why to do that but it isn't much an annoyance.

think about it.. you have screen light timeout set to 1 minute, its night time, youre using your N900 as a torch with merely the screen... to turn it off you lock the screen. .. then you plug the wall charger in as it may die overnight if you do not - and it unlocks the screen and lights up..

This is presumably because you have the "Display stays lit when charging" option set (in Settings/Display).

I'd also prefer it if it only stayed lit, and didn't become lit.

nope, thats Off........ I dont want the screen to unlock or come on when plugging into wall charger

shreen also seems to unlock when you open the lens cover. This is more anying because when I slip the phone to my pocket it could start.

I agree, it annoys me too when the screen comes on just to tell you that it's charging.

Yeah, agree it is a slight annoyance. Think this only started happening since the last firmware update?
