Some level(s) could contain daleks (or equivalent) that move towards the player in a similar fashion to the daleks in the old classic game "daleks" (aka robots) and get destroyed when crashing into each others or into piles of debris from previous crashes.

Pretty much a straight ripoff, in other words, just more fluid, obviously.

These daleks should probably move a lot slower than the player(s puddle of liquid), though. (The original is not realtime, but turnbased).

edit:
So, this is not so much about a level, but about having access to a "monster" with dalek-like characteristics. If a level designer puts just some daleks and the player on an empty level, we get the liquid daleks clone. on levels with walls and stuff, the daleks could follow the walls in the direction that is closest to the bearing of the player. No pathfinding, in other words. They would easilly be trapped in corners. I don't have any clue about what, if anything, they'd do when encountering drains, wheels or ... teddy bears.

I'd love to do a daleks game separately. But unfortunately, you would fall foul of the extremely tight license on them held by the Terry Nation estate. I fear daleks in particular would be a problem for this reason.

Sea monsters (Leviathon?) might be good though. And mermaids. Especially ambivalnet mermaids and mermen who may or may not be on your side. (True to the mythology).

Yes, they could not be called daleks, but behaving like the ones in the old classic should be ok (according to my logic, might be wrong, of course), as there are clones by the name of "robots" for instance. The behaviour isn't very complicated.

In higher level: You have 2 Liquids. one blue, one yellow. And a green exit. Mix it to pass the exit with the liquid!

Next step: You have 2 Liquids. one blue, one yellow. And 3 exits. Blue, yellow and green. You have to put a plenty of water to each exit. Don't forget one exit. Or you can't reach the next level.

The Story could handle about a new Bar Mixer machine or a chemical factory. (and you're the overworked employee in the night shift)

Edit: I changed the yellow into orange in the text colors otherwise nobody could read it!
If you also had the different colour liquids having different relative viscosity or density you could add puzzles that had liquids added and seperating into specific levels so that only using certain colours into a repository would result in a given colour water reaching a specific level and triggering a switch say?

I am starting to see something along the lines of Jetset Willy here.

@Hop If you are thinking aof a specific file format for the levels then I am happy to help out with the editor if that would be of benefit.

@Fargus, thanks, help is always welcome
At my uni we are currently working on a platform of levels sharing, I think that it will be suitable for this project

@RevdKathy, don't worry.
Everybody knows

Seriously though, things are a bit hectic here (deadlines coming) so it will be a while before I can help (not that everybody should wait for ME® )

Maybe people with ideas could make some drafts with pen-and-paper-gimp-photoshop-paint how they imagine the levels, elements, tasks etc.? It's easier to discuss if we can see it

They do? Would someone explain it to me then please, as I seem to have missed it.

I believe Lcuk was pencilling some ideas with pipes and globs. Sadly, my art skills are as great as my coding skills.
