Hi all,

I have a query which more experienced n900 professionals (such as yourselves) may be able to clarify for me.

As an example: If I take say around 25 photos of a particular event or occassion, is there any way I can sort them out into a folder. So if I needed to show those photos to my friends or colleagues I can quickly go to a folder in my gallery and show it, without exposing my other photographs.

Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to ask. All help gladly welcome. Thank You.

You can add a tag to the photos, then later only show photos that contain that tag.

You can tag them, then filter by tags, or put them into a separate subdirectory and filter by folder.

Oh is that the best and only option? Oh damn.....I've got about 250 photos that I transferred from my E71 and it's all just spread around, whereas it used to be all neatly organised in various folders.....it could just be my OCD but photos sorted out in folders would have been quicker to scan through or filter.....but I'll have to give this tagging a go and see how that turns out to be.....thank you.....anymore suggestions are welcomed.....

Subdirectory = folder.

It depends where these pictures are coming from.

If you've taken them on the N900 then they'll all get saved into the default camera folder (either /home/user/MyDocs/DCIM or /media/mmc1/DCIM). You can use File Manager to browse either of these, create a new folder, and move the pictures into there. You can then filter to just show images from the single folder.

If you've copied them over then they may well already be sorted into folders - the image viewer by default ignores these though. You can then use the "filter by folder" option to browse to a custom folder and only view the images from there.
