Actually the PyMaemo team (which includes myself) is responsible for it

The mafw binding is currently in alpha state and a very few examples work . We have been busy with other tasks, and given that there have been not much interest on it so far (I think you are the second person that we see trying it publicly, and the first one was actually working with the MAFW developers), it is currently low priority.

But if someone demonstrates with a nice use case that it can become useful for a real application, I believe we can reconsider its priority. Unfortunately there are too many pending tasks and few resources to develop Python bindings for Maemo, so we needed to prioritize things.

follow-up

just apt-cache search python on 770
and there is great number of python apps
(does it mean the same python app are installable via Application manager and be seen in clickable listing ?)

Ok.
I am looking for something basic as a test of GUI + menu + clickable buttons for diablo (2008He)
just to learn if there is any chance to write basic
map tile viewer + GPS centered location pin
in python2.5
just to see map tile image moving and get centered around
gps data located pin I get via gpsbt lib.
