    I've been using the guide to do this and have managed to connect the controller to my N900 but I'm stuck on the bit where it says:

    To configure SixAxis buttons, on N900 edit:
    /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/20-x11-sony-sixaxis.fdi

    How do I access that file?

    Does this still require for us to reflash and install a new kernel? I am still new to linux and maemo, and I notice the guide does not include this step.

    Also, where can I find a SixAxis controller? All I see are DS3 controllers on eBay. I don't really want to pay $50 for a DS3 if SixAxis is the only one I need.

    I really want to thank smoku for doing such a great job! You make buying n900 worth every penny!

    I think the process was updated at some point to include patching the kernal as part of the install.

    There seem to be plenty of sixaxis controllers on ebay. A brand new DS3 is 45 bucks so I'd lower your price target a bit.

    sixaxis.BluetoothMAC = "xx:xx" // change xx:xx to dongle bluetooth MAC adress.

    Remove the quotes or leave them in once I put my n900 BT Mac address in there?

    I cant get it to pair at all.

    Anyone running windows 7 x64 as I have seen there are lots of problems with libUSB.

    Well... It does flash the kernel, but does it during installation.
    So effectively it does install like any other app.
