please read the whole thread. it isn't so long yet.
I have been following the entire thread... and as far as I can tell there has been NO official word, just speculation and a reference to a vague twitter post (lol..)

yes and that is the best you can get. we can only hope that PR1.2 will be documented to wiki as well as PR1.1 was. only fact for now is that there is a great probability that you wont get any official facts.

But they are valid speculations because the update itself is 16MB So don't expect much of this update.. But you're right that we need someone like Qgil to help us oit here. O'mighty qgil where are thee?

That's why I was trying to ask nicely that some Nokia employee would please enlighten us on what the update really was
It seemed to touch a lot of core packages, I'm just curious is all. I don't want to start any trouble :P
You have conflicting package installed. Think of anything you've installed from the devel repo ,and try to delete it. For me (as I have quite a few things from devel) I only needed to uninstall openarena and ioquake. YMMV.

Thanks for the tip. Guess I'm too eager for newness. Went ahead and dl'ed & installed Nokia Software Updater. It's downloading the entire 171meg OS as I type this. Had to click through some dialog boxes on my laptop indicating "all data will be removed and re-written to memory", "take a backup or you're SOL", and "all music will be wiped from the device" ;-(.
Oh well.
Glad I've got Nokia Multimedia Transfer to sync 25gigs of itunes jams back onto the phone when this is all done.....
