Problem with maemo mapper and ld-3w

I was searching the forums for people with the same problem. I ran into one thread where there were successful reports of maemo mapper working with different gps devies. the nokia ld-3w (the gps device that came with navicore) went both ways, somebody reported it working while someone else reported it not working. Maemo mapper simply wont recognize my bluetooth gps device. Currently, i have the latest firmware and the latest version of maemo mapper. I am wondering if i need to configure something, or maybe i dont have something set up right. if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.

    thank you

Are other bluetooth devices are working okay?

One workaround might be to use rfcomm to connect to the device, and then specify the rfcomm device name (e.g. /dev/rfcomm1) in Maemo Mapper as the "MAC Address." This will allow Maemo Mapper to use your device even if Maemo Mapper itself cannot connect to it.
