Hi All,

I've had the N900 for little over a week now, but unfortunately the handset they gave me had a few dead pixels and needed to be swapped. To save all my contacts etc I used the backup feature on the handset and then transferred that file to my Mac. I got my replacement handset today and for the love of me can't get the phone to find the backup when I drag and drop it via mass storage mode. Where do I specifically need to drop the folder I've named 'Backup1' that holds a couple of .zip files and backup.metadata?

I would appreciate any help with this.

the folder is named "backups"
full path: /home/user/MyDocs/backups
in this folder you have to put your backup-folder
-> /home/user/MyDocs/backups/Backup1

Cheers for that! I'll give it a bash once it's finished updating the OS

EDIT:

Sorry to be a pain, but I'm clearly being completely thick here. I can't find that path you have mentioned. I've got cities, DCIM, Mac OS and tmp. It's not within any of those. Cheers for the help b66m.

*Bump*

Sorry, but I'm pretty desperate to get my contacts back to make some calls.

Also, whilst I'm needing help, how the hell do I change the time on this thing? The time is completely wrong although it's set for London time, when I click into date & time on settings it doesn't give me the option to edit it, I just have 24 hour clock with a tick, update automatically with a tick and then Time Zone, Date and Time all written in grey text beneath it but they're not 'click-able'.

Cheers for any help in both these queries!

You'll need to create the folder if it doesn't already exist. It probably gets created by the backup app the first time you make a backup.

As for changing the time, the settings panel is the correct place. If you've set it to update automatically then you can't also set it manually. You need to disable the automatic update first.
