Hi guys,

I saw on the application manager a new update for maemo 5, but when i want to update it, it saids i need to plug in into a computer with the nokia updater software installed on it.

A friend of my just updated it without a pc, how can i do this too??

Martijn,

First off the search function works wonders. Alas since i bothered to type this already I might as well answer your question.

If you have installed anything from extras devel repo, you will probably need to uninstall them before you can install the update OTA. This is because some of these packages conflict with the update. This particular problem was also prevelant with the last update.

Start with IOquake or Openarena if you have them installed. Might be the only thing you need to uninstall.

Install the update and then reinstall them.

Hi,
you must have enough room on rootfs.
open terminal an type df -h
look at rootfs
maybe disable maemo-devel if its enabled
and deinstall some apps

i've removed openarena and it's now updating.. THNX

EDIT:

not enough space... how much space do i need to god on rootfs?
i've used 193 mb of the 228 mb
