He is no longer developing Mauku for Diablo that is correct. There was talk of an effort to backport some of the changes made on the backend from the Freemantle version, but I'm not sure where those went as I trailed off in terms of attention span there.

I'd better start getting used to witter then. I use Mauku a lot.

I would really like to see Mer evolve on the N8x0 despite MeeGo, which doesn't run on the N8x0. Diablo is a fine tablet OS, but Mer would open more possibilities on these tablets.

agreed. With 0.17 on my N800 Mer is really good and seems quite stable, but the big issue with it is the speed of the desktop or ratherf lack of it. Crack that and i think that more people would give it a go, and progress will probably accelerate.

Nokia need to be pressed to release, or at least allow certain community members to create, packages for the maiin apps on M5 such as the calendar, image editor, media player (sorry martin!) as well.
