    If you run Media Player it should give you an estimate of time remaining to finish indexing.

    i do the hard reset..then run the media player.. it does nothing...

    tried
    tracker-processes -r

    nothing

    tried
    tracker-processes --hard-reset

    nothing

    Uninstall media player's plugins like "extra decoders support" then restart the media player.
    This should work with a clean database.

    What helped me was two things which you can try:
    remove SD card start player and close , then reput and reopen media player

    second jut start one song, stop it and reboot media player

    and it starts again indexing.

    I had the same problem where resetting the trackerd didn't help me re-index my new files.

    I used the terminal (as user) to delete /var/tmp/tracker-user/cache.d this seems to force a reset.

    After that, trackerd re-indexed everything great!
