Maemo Mapper on my N800 with a little BT GPS unit is still better than anything on my N900. Bigger screen, better GPS accuracy, more features...

    ...That's pretty sad.

This topic actually reminded me of a thread (that didn't get any wind under its wings) I started some three months back...

It would basically be a dock for your tablet that would expand its usability in desktop environment like @ office desk. Imagine the comfort of using the N900 with for example 8-10 inch touch display at your desk... actually it would probably look something like on the promo videos of N900 at http://maemo.nokia.com/videos/ ...after seeing the vids with N900+bigger screen in mind at least I'm drooling over the possibility to make it reality!!!

How about a Smart Q7 mid, around $200 USD. Can run Mer, maybe Meego in the future. USB support for the GPS, or maybe even bluetooth into N900 GPS.

Something I played with a while ago, although I have now progressed onto a N800 and N810. Of course the N810 has proper GPS Sat-nav software on it.

    and

The real point here is that the devices themselves are perfectly functional as they are and don't rule out the N900 as a display - just move it a bit closer to you!! Fitting an extra screen means all sorts of crap with touch screens etc. keep it simple.
