In web browser I get a page load error. Befor this update, I was able to surf internet using the same wifi network and the key. Please help me out in resolving this issue.

I can only assume you tried rebooting?

In xterm tpye

Code:
sudo ifconfig
This will show you if you are tx and rx packets from the wireless router.

Code:
sudo ifconfig
Just in case you try that and it doesn't work on your setup:
sudo ifconfig doesn't work in my N900. It asks for a password. There are two ways that do work for me, either
Code:
sudo gainroot
ifconfig
or

Code:
root
ifconfig
I have the gainroot package installed, it seems.

After much exploring I managed to connect to wifi after entering the ip address, submnet mask and dns addresses in Advanced settings. But it doesn't seem to work with "Auto retrieve ip address" setting. Also, even afer entering the ip address, submnet mask and dns addresses in Advanced settings, sometimes I'm still unable to connect. The behavior is very erratic. I have even tried using WEP mechanism but no solution.
