Based on API from SVN rev. 876.
It's stable at the moment, but lacks features.
So it looks like the D-Bus interface is kinda working.
What features are missing that you need from the interface? I thought about providing coverart as base64-encoded PNG string, e.g.

Track info A way to get it
And a kind of signal, when track changes (e.g. switching other in playlist), or add track info to existing signals (e.g. to 'play' signal).
Coverart can just be provided as a filename, e.g. it can be loaded from thumbnails dir and cached in widget. But it's not that important at the moment
Coverart doesn't always exist as file. Sometimes it's embedded in the file or stream.
I forgot about that In that case base64 is really reasonable...
Btw, while adding seekbar component I found you're multipling pos and total by 1000... I have to devide it by 1000, after receiving the signal
Can anyone help me have MB connect with my music on my PC? I expected that it would automatically find any networked collection I have, but the "Storage and Network" folder only shows my N900 filesystem, nothing more
I have turned on UPnP in my Windows XP machine, and I have had Windows Media Player 11 scan my music library. In the Options/Library/Media Sharing setup box, the N900 does not show up as a choosable shareable device for WMP11.
Has anyone else had problems with this? What am I overlooking? It seems such a simle thing, to have MB find my network connection - there are certainly no configurable options available in MB, so it should be sort of automatic, no?
I have had no trouble connecting my N900 to anything else in my network - WIFI, VNC, and rDesktop all work well for me. I have even transferred files from the PC to the N900 over WIFI using rDesktop.
What am I missing? I really want streaming access to my PC's media library. Thanks for any help.

and it worked like charm (exept streaming xvid/divx avi container videos, its a maemo bug)
Allowed the Device in media connect and give them the folder

Thanks for the help. I too tried that, and it just cycled forever, never starting or connecting.
I ended up being pointed to this metalist http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UPnP_AV_MediaServers
of UPnP servers on Wikipedia from a comment made on a N900 blog about UPnP on the N900 (useless blog, that one).
I am really glad I found that! There are so many disparate links on UPnP on Wikipedia, this server list is not one that shows up readily when seraching.
Anyway, I went for one of the generic freeware software apps, and - it worked! So I do have access to my PC's media library through NB now (no thanks to Winblows XP).
I'm not sure if I'll stay with the on I'm using, it's really generic and a little old, but at least I know I can make it work.
