    THANKS!

to all who are having issues, just follow the 1st thread, install open ssh client and server and it will ask for password, set one there.

open winscp enter IP, user root and ur password. It did ask me for a key but i just press ok and logged me into phones files.

Hi I am a newb. I am also getting the connection refused error. I think it is because my phone and my computer have the same IP address (they cant have the same ip address right?). I tried to reset it on windows but my phone resets it to the same ip address as my computer. Help!

How are you finding the IP address for each device? Any of the "what's my IP" web services will only give you the IP of your internet conection.

To get the IP of your N900, start xterm and type
    Code:
    /sbin/ifconfig wlan0 | grep inet

after following your guide I was not able to get connected to my phone because it kept giving me "connection refuse" error but i got it working after installing rootsh.

You should add that step in the guide as well.

    Edit:

When WinSCP tries login to my N900 I get the following error

    Code:
    Command 'groups'
failed with return code 127 and error message
    -sh: groups: not found.
When I press OK, it logs in and shows me some folders but all of them are empty. The folder structure is following

    -root
    - .genome2
    - .pulse

    Nothing else. No other files.

What am I doing wrong ?

Fixed the connection issue for me by restarting my router.

    I had to use

    Code:
    /sbin/ifconfig wlan0 | grep inet
to get my ip, as the other methods were giving me my home ip, I guess you could check your router to see what connected where?
