Hi there - I'm intending to get a N900 when my current contract up - ie in a month. Now it appears the best data plan I can get is 500mb ("unlimited" with FUP), however if I got an iphone I get 750mb to 1gb/month with contract so I wondered about getting one to get the plan then flogging it on ebay. Just wondered if anyone else done this and if the 500mb limit causing any problems?
    Should mention I'm in uk!

I'm on Three Sweden and get 20GB data each month(3.5G, 7.2mbps), then they limit it to 365kbps or whatever 3G speeds are. I'm happy. I have used roughly 700MB in ~two weeks.

Think it very difficult to say as depends so much on usage. I've had a n900 for aound 3 weeks and only used ~120MB, but most usage has been via wifi at work/home.

    I'm on 3UK and have 1Gb fup

I know with vodafone UK that the regular plan is 500Mb FUP so you may get warned but no charges. I believe the iPhone plan is 1Gb, but has fixed (high) fees for additional data.

I have 1GB data each month (for an outrageous price ), and I've only used 30MB so far, since I got my phone a week ago - but I've been at home the last week, so I've been using my wifi.

If you have access to wifi most of the time, 500MB should be more than enough, I believe.

Toja, how much do you pay? Internet is quite cheap in Sweden, isn't it?

I use a couple of gigs per month. Varies. I use scp over 3g for most data transfers so if I change music on the phone I generate a lot of traffic. Spotify eats a lot too.

Unlimited data from is 9,80€/month (384kbps) to 34,90€/month (full speed, whatever it is) here in Finland.

Oh, that not fair, mece. I pay 100 dkk, or €13.44 for 1GB - 1mbit.

The most common is €11 for 100MB each month. Lol.

    flydeep -

But instead we pay 50% more for our products than you do.

    I've paid $820 for my N900.

I am with Vodafone and not had any issue with the 500mb at all. If I am driving etc I just switch off the connection and whilst at home I am connected to home wifi.

    I pay 5 UKP/pcm for my 1Gb data (and 5 for a few 100 calls/texts) & get full HSPA up & downstream.

Can ping in ~90ms and whilst I've only measured once got well over 1 Mbps both downstream AND upstream.
