Anybody who have used Flasher 3.5 to flash N900 please help.

Please tell if this is right?

Make sure battery is full.

1. switch off phone.
2. Plug the usb on N900 and press the "U" on the keyboard then turn it on.
3. Once you see the nokia without backlight and the usb icon on the upper right you can stop pressing the "U".
4. You are now ready to flash.

Note: you can rename to shorten the filename. I rename this update OS3.bin when I updated my N900 so won't to type or copy paste the long name. Besides my vista 32 can't read the long filename.

IS there any nececity that i have to put the downloaded image into my phone's root dirctory????

There is no reason that not putting the downloaded image in the root directory would destroy your system, so why not try it?

Why wouldn't you put it in the root directory if you were worried about it.

I don't think you need to put the downloaded image in the root directory.

You don't put the downloaded image into N900, you put it in your PC.
