I wrote a bootscreen manager last weekend in a few hours, to tell you the truth was more like a joke/fun app, but seems there's a lot of users interested.
The current UI is very simple and basic, but some users are having troubles understanding it, yes I can do a better job, but I need some designers help, because I'm zero at graphics

What I need, apart from your suggestions:
- App icon;
- Small icon for each item in the list, representation a video file;
- Something like a check icon, similar to the green check in the Internet connection manager when you're connected to a network
VDVsx is it possible to re-use icons from the OS? For example where you mention the green check used in the connection manager can this be found and used? The un-compiled source for these things should be available?
I meant a generic icon for the video files, not a different one for each video. Perhaps video thumbnails can be used, but that's out of scope at least for now.
Make them a bit bigger than 26x26 (or use SVG), that way I can resize and play with them
