No, I haven't. I thought one'd have a fair chance given it runs on Debian/ARM.

I'd prefer not run such a 'big' application on my NIT.

Consider to try it with ssh -fXTC hostname command and see how this suits your needs?

I only ask, I don't demand. I'm not in hurry because I've Thunderbird-To-Go with my Eee

Different GUIs are much more common on N8x0 than a standard GUI which can be used with thumb only. Even the apps which comes original, are so different (small/big scrollbars...) that this doesn't matter if another app is again a mess to use

Thank you for the link to his blog!

Any news on the Thunderbird build installer for Maemo?

That and Lightning/Sunbird, and a SyncML client for them, would be absolutely lovely.

(there are SyncML plugins for Thunderbird already, just saying hoping there'd be one ported along with Thunderbird/Lightning for Maemo)

Bump! I've just recently switched over to Thunderbird and Lightening, and with my tablet arriving in my mailbox tomorrow, I'd love to be able to synch email and calendar between my laptop and tablet...

Just wondering, if this thunderbird port isn't available to the public yet, do folks have any other ways they synch with thunderbird? I suspect I'll just end up checking my mail via gmail in the browser. But would much prefer to use thunderbird...

I installed Thunderbird 3 on the N900, using Easy Debian (it is called "IceDove" in Debian). It can be found in the "Experimental" repository. It runs reasonably quickly, but I didn't get the UI set up very nicely, and so it is quite cramped and difficult to use.

Hey, I just discovered that it is installed in the latest image available for Easy Debian. So you can try it out yourself if you're a hacker type who can download and extract the image file manually

How do you get this layout? Is it an add-on?
