anything in the repos which isn't shown in the app manager can be installed using "apt-get" on the commandline:
Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get install libesd0

The logical first question:

Why?

Because if you need it for an application, that application should set that dependency itself and everything should be automatic...

Also, libesd0 on maemo5 sounds a bit strange. Perhaps he's trying to install a Maemo 4 application by mistake?

Maybe (and if it isn't a graphical app it might even work). Or maybe just port something which uses libesd. The libesd0 in the Fremantle repository is one I built, with just pulseaudio support enabled, to allow me to port gpe-calendar without changing the sound code.

On the other hand, I only tested that it worked with gpe-calendar -- if he needs more from it he may be disappointed even when he gets it installed!

Ah, I didn't realize there was a "proper" maemo5 libesd0 in extras-devel!
