No. You can just use pen to scroll the right bar into window. I hope someone extend this possibility to fingers too.

"Example" is configuted for black italics.
Same for me. Any idea?

*HTTP querry:

I think the HTTP Querry will eventually look something like this:

http://www.wordreference.com/enit=&q=%s

Pretty sure one needs the % in there, and maybe also the q=. It would allow searching their database from inside another application. Not sure the mods at wordreference will know this.

*Font thing looks like a bug to me.

But I would like to be able to switch to also see the synonyms dictionary result (without having to disable the Oxford dictionary or moving it down the list of dictionaries).
I have found that QSD seems to not recognize or dsiplay at all some of the dictionaries that have grabbed from the link of newer dict files I posted a while back.

In contrast, MStarDict not only shows all those dictionaries, but shows them all on the same definitions page, and labeled as such.

Sorry for the plug for MSD in the QSD thread, but it's a significant difference, I think, and it addresses the post I've quoted.

It is possible - and is a preferable alternative, I must say (even though I tend to avoid app-battles, I think MSD has a superior finger interface and better dictionary integration).

1) download your dictionary on your pc from: http://xdxf.revdanica.com/down2/inde...ormat=StarDict
2) uncompress it using your pc program. if you use linux, just click on file and use your relative program to uncompress it. otherwise install file roller from repos. If you use windows use winrar (or http://7-zip.org)
3) at this point, after uncompress operation, you will have a folder (in my case stardict-English_Italian-2.4.2) with 3 files inside:
English_italian.dict.dz
English_italian.idx
English_italian.ifo
4) open xterminal on your N900 and write:
mkdir /home/user/.stardict/dic/
5) copy folder inside /home/user/.stardict/dic/ directory
To do this connect your N900 to your pc as mass store and copy (by clicking your mouse) your dict folder into MyDocs folder.
After did disconnect N900 from your PC, open xterminal and digit:
cd MyDocs
mv your_dict_folder /home/user/.stardict/dic/
(eg. in my case, like before:
mv stardict-English_Italian-2.4.2 /home/user/.stardict/dic/)
that's all

tell me if it works!
I have taken the first 4 steps. The problem is with the mv command.

mv <anyDic...> /home/user/.stardict/dic/
gives the following message:
mv: cannot preserve ownership of '/home/user/.stardict/dic/<anyDic...>' : Operation not permitted.

The scary thing for me is that the file disappears too. So I don't know if these relatively big files are just lost occupying preciouse space while my stardict doesn't work.

Am I missing a parameter? or doing something else wrong?
Please help.

Maybe you've to change owner/permissions to dict-file?
eg.: root->user or make it readable/executable?
in same directory where is your dict-file digit:
ls -l dict-file
post here all info about it
(you'll see something like this: -rwxr-x--x-- 24 user users)

I noticed that the encyclopedia's have .jpg files. Are these pics supposed to be visible in the QSTARDICT app? I left the DIR structure the same as it was after it was unzipped. There was a DIR called "res" that contained all the .jpg files so I moved it so my DIR now looks like .stardict/dic/res/.jpgs but did not see any pics in the app but did see a spot where the pic should be. Do the .jpgs need to go under dic and not res? ...or is this not supported?
Thanks

All three files from each dictionary are in .stardict/dic/ and I changed the permissions to -rwx-r-xr-- using chmod 755 * in dic directory.

Still, when I start QStarDict and go to config., there are no dictionaries listed.

Please advise.
