What about bluetooth gadget in the form of over-the-ear headset with GSM simcard slot. N800 could talk to it over bluetooth and it would be responsible for all the GSM/GPRS/EDGE/whatever traffic. So it's still "one device" with accessory, and there would be no need for tethering any more. Perfect N800 companion!
Now that is something I could get excited about.

This is actually the kind of GSM phone I'm hoping someone will develop. Just an earpiece with decent voice dialing and something like the Internet Tablet for those awkward moments when you just have to do something more with your phone.
I've just learned that some genius/clueless idiot (underline appropriate) managed to shoehorn an MP3 player with a contacts list in a BT earpiece, so doable at least it should be.

).....wasn't there some sort of deal between Sprint and Nokia? Sprint (USA)is going to roll out WiMax and Nokia will provide the device? sounds like things are going that type of direction......hmmmmmmm......"ubiquitous" comes to mind from another posting - a seemless 'net experience from your home to where ever you go with VoIP and web browsing......what a dream.....
In other words, you could control the phone and use the phone via your N800....as well as making/answering calls, editing contacts, calendar etc.
