And phone fairy will fix all the bugs and add enchantments to it?

No really. Wrong topic. Good advise if you have dropped your phone to water and you need to dry it up.

senaidbp,
Hmm. Looks really worrying.
Have you flashed completely your device? I would do that again and if these issues keep coming then I would return my device. It might be that your internal memory is corrupted but I doubt that.

This may be a result of some bug (see http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=40 and bug https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8165)

Try to avoid using internal memory player and use KMPlayer instead until that bug is fixed.

"Thank you" for pointing out the obvious.
Here's the definition, from the first two lines of the wiki page:

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
Ok, now let's assume he is a troll - then he must comply with the definition, right? Let's see:

- prabhatkumar post was not inflammatory - he just mentioned some issues he discovered about his (probably new) N900.
- His post was definitely not extraneous - this is the correct place to post it.
- His post was clearly not off topic because he chose the topic, and the thread content corresponds to the title.
- He's primary intent was not to provoke other users into emotional response. In fact ,the opposite is true - he was looking for a technical assistance.

Conclusion - prabhatkumar is definitely NOT A TROLL.
Q.E.D - Reductio ad absurdum.

Now, some rebuke.

This is a guy that has just post his first thread on the Maemo.org forums, saying he has some issues and was expecting for help. He's probably not a native English speaker, and no doubt that he lacks experience with his device specifically, and with this forum in general.

And what do you do to help him?

1. Reject/dis-legitimate his request for assistance by calling him a troll.
2. Insult him because of not mastering the English language.
3. Give him the feeling that he is not wanted in this community.

Is this really the way to greet a new member of the Maemo.org community and/or a new N900 owner?
Can you understand the first impression you make on new users here? The negative reputation you make for this community, which I belongs to?

Before you rush to your keyboards and type these offend responses, please consider that everyone deserves a chance to make mistakes, especially if it's their first involvement with this intermixed community of high quality Linux guru's and fresh newbies. Oh, and English skills says nothing about intelligence, and definitely nothing about interpersonal relationships.

Stop wasting your time. What's inflammatory is an opinion. This was a first post, a new thread no less. Some of us found it unnecessarily inflammatory. Thus, some of us think the OP's a troll. Q.E.D. Now move on.
