I got my N900 about a week ago, and a few days ago the default browser (microB?) just about stopped working. It will just sit there for ages, with the little blue progress bar bouncing back and forth, and nothing happens.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? It's really annoying ...

I've installed the ad-block plugin (but the problem persists even when I disable it). Oh, and I've installed Firefox. But no, nothing that everyone else hasn't also installed ...

I have a similar problem, while the browser sometimes flies, sometimes it just has the blue knight rider animation going on forever. And nothing fixes it like dis-/reconnecting, closing all windows, reloading, it just sits there and doesnt do anything.

Kinda impractical if youre in a hurry and need to check the train schedule real quick or even worse, buy an onlineticket for the train you just slipped in through the door. It cost me 80 bucks the other day when they checked for the tickets because I didnt have one because my browser wouldnt let me buy one in the onlineshop on time... *hmpf* ;-)

You could try resetting the configuration. In X Terminal, run:
Code:
mv .mozilla/microb .mozilla/microb.old
Then reboot the phone.

Hmm, that seems to have worked! (I didn't try rebooting without resetting the configuration, though---perhaps that would have been enough? But this is Linux, so any problem with the browser should have taken care of itself when I restarted the _program_. But maybe it leaves background processes?)

Thanks for the assistance!

Yes, in order to improve performance there's a background browser process that's running all the time. So yes, just rebooting might also have worked.

You could try putting the old config back, out of interest, to see if that was the problem, assuming you kept a copy.
