One thing thats been mentioned in the thread is that video is not enabled.
Can any one enlighten me as to why its so difficult to get the cam working with skype and other messeneger apps!
Isn't it so that none of the linux versions of Skype support video? (Correct me if I'm wrong.) Since N800 is basically linux... it is rather logical that it doesn't have video. If it did, would have been more of a surprise.

Skype for Linux is based on QT but maemo has is GTK based so I think they have not build Skype for n800 on this base.
Building video support for a single device with common hardware (n800/buildinwebcam) is easier than for Skype/Linux.

That is probably correct. Since Gtalk already has the video capability working, it shouldn't be too huge task to get it ported to Skype... I guess the primary goal is to get the Skype out with voice support. I assume the video part will come in later update?
