Nokia N900 does not support java out of the box. There are no user-friendly ways to install it.
The N900 being as open and hackable as it is, there are a couple of java threads here on the forum though, where some brave souls have managed to install Sun's embedded java, and others that have tried jalimo and/or openjdk (?), not that I'm very familiar with any of those. Might want to try do a search here and on the wiki.

How I can run JavaFX applications on Nokia N900? Need to install add-ons to do that? I need to know this because I am Java Programmer and I have a new Nokia N900 device!
