cheers helmy that'll be useful. if anyonem has a service manual for the n8x0 series id appreciate it to.
My N900 doesn't seem to want to boot after flashing bdogg64's kernel image. Has the kernel image been signed by fiasco-gen? if not, what are the command line arguments to preform this task?
im fairly certain you dont flash the kernel on the n900 according to some of bdoggs previous posts hes using bootmenu to do it
correct me if i'm wrong but from what i've seen, the stock maemo kernel doesn't provide resources necessary to boot android hence why you need to patch and install a custom kernel in order to get Android to boot on the N900 - the bootmenu only allows you to switch from Maemo to Android
pass, but im sure he has it booting a diff kernel from bootmenu
Untill kexec is fully working on the arm architecture, you cant really dual boot different kernels on the N900, which is why i'm certain that flashing the kernel is necessary in order to boot Android.
Unfortunately, bootmenu didn't show my freshly minted android.ext3.item... in fact, booting with the keyboard open had no noticeable effect. Perhaps bootmenu is buggy with PR1.1.1? Anyone have a suggestion as to something I can try. I'm so close to get a "testable" system!
