The Packages file is one of the files downloaded from each repository - it contains a list of the packages in that repository, their dependencies, etc. There may also be other files downloaded containing GPG signatures, etc. The filename itself doesn't appear in the defined URL but will be reported in the error messages.

finaly it has a bug
So the situation is like :
- At home: To download ovi applications and have acces to gmail imap , i have to change the /etc/resolv.conf to 80.10.246.2

- When i go out and i have internet from wap, i have to change again to 127.0.0.1 because i dont have msn and mms streaming any more. With this setting i have access to gmail imap but i cannot install ovi aplications

the bug is this one : https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7665

Can you not make these DNS changes in the connection-specific settings (i.e. in the Advanced settings page when editing the Internet connection) rather than in the resolv.conf file?

i ve just tried again, it does nt work. Only when i change in resolv.conf it works

i dont have gmail imap access and in the installation i wait and nothing happens.

The only difference i saw is that in the n900 i have the 127.0.0.1 by default and in my computeur i have this:

[dimitris@localhost ~]$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8)
# DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN
nameserver 192.168.1.1
search home
[dimitris@localhost ~]$

i tried to change in the n900 the setting to 192.168.1.1 without success

i changed the resolv.conf to 80.10.246.2 and i leave the dns in this connexion checked (to use custom ip) and it does nt work ! (even after reboot)
after i uncheck the box DNS in this connexion it i have the services functionnal again

i think i am doomed to change every time the resolv.conf
